Community Table of Albion

Who We Are

The Community Table of Albion works collaboratively with many community organizations to offer Albion, fresh food items, where they live, that are easily accessible. Our mission is to have a healthy and hunger-free community. We strive to treat everyone with respect and together we can do more than just provide fresh food, we can provide hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Our History

The need for food support in Albion has greatly increased through the pandemic.  The Community Table of Albion works with volunteers to distribute food three times a month from a packing dock on the west side of Albion College’s Wesley Hall.

A special entryway was added in 2021 so that recipients can line up in a beautiful space behind Wesley Hall to wait for their box of food. The food is distributed based on the number of people in a household. For this program, drivers can also pick up a box of food for another household, or recipients can carpool.

Food Distribution Program

The address of Wesley Hall is 705 E. Michigan Ave., Albion, and the driveway to enter is located on Bidwell Street. The time for distribution is usually the second, third, and fourth Tuesdays of each month, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Albion’s Gold Star Park was created by family and friends of those who perished in WWII and was dedicated 75 years ago. More local history: Albion Community Hospital was built 56 years ago but closed 21 years ago in 2002. Those who wanted to assist Albion residents in navigating local health resources created Albion Health Care Alliance. The people of Albion are known for coordinating efforts to best adapt to circumstances. We are honored to be a part of Albion's legacy.

Albion Health Care Alliance would like to express our appreciation for the Community Table of Albion Volunteers from left to right: John Shedd, Ginny Garrison, Veronica Cordova, Octavio Morales, Beth Williamson, Peyton Easterwood, Ernest Radobaugh, Dana Anderla, Felisha Coats, Terry Anderla. Not pictured was the set-up crew which had already left: Lenn Reid, Beth Lincoln, Shayla Ardis, & Chavarie Johnson. CTA register that day was Dagmar McKinney.
The Community Table of Albion (CTA), including a food pantry, commodities, and food distribution on three Tuesdays each month, is collectively one of our largest projects. The Community Table of Albion volunteers make the food distribution possible. Please thank them for their service if you see them.
